Born and raised and now running a business in her hometown, Carmi’s Melissa Barton cut the ribbon for her business The Rusty Razor Hair and Beard Parlor Monday morning. Looking and feeling your best is the name of the game and the shop already has more than a dozen 5 star reviews for the haircuts, styling and grooming. The setting and atmosphere also play a key role. That includes a furry, wagging welcome from the Rusty Razor’s unofficial mascot “Pepper”, Barton’s Australian Cattle Dog pup and also the scenes that appear across the walls.
The Rusty Razor carries Suavecito and Suavecita as well as Warlord Beard Oil, a veteran owned company. The Rusty Razor Hair and Beard Parlor is located in downtown Carmi tucked neatly between the Carmi Taekwondo Center and the Rush Appliance overstock showroom near Church Street. Appointments can be made by calling 618-383-6014 or you can find the shop on Facebook and schedule a visit by clicking on the Book Now tab. Barton is available Tuesday – Friday 9am – 5pm and Saturday 9am – 2pm.
