Chamber of Commerce Accepting Nominations for Yard of the Month

The Carmi Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with Wabash Christian Retirement Center, will again be selecting a Yard of the Month this summer.
The Chamber Board of Directors made a decision at the April board meeting to continue the program established last year. A recipient will be selected June – September. The winning yard will once again be selected by a group of residents from Wabash Christian Retirement Center. Executive Director Holly Healy stated, “We appreciate the willingness of the administration and residents of Wabash Christian Retirement Center to assist with this project.”
As last year, there are guidelines for this contest: The yard cannot be professionally maintained to be eligible for the award, and a yard can only win one time a season. Nominations may be made to the Chamber of Commerce by letter, e-mail or phone by the 10th of each month. You do not have to be nominated to win. The winning yards must be within the city limits of Carmi.
Those nominations should be sent to Carmi Chamber of Commerce, 225 East Main St. Carmi, Il. 62821; e-mail; chamber@cityofcarmi.com or phone, 382-7606. For June, nominations should be received no later than June 10. The winning yard will be announced the following week.
The recipient of the Yard of the Month will receive a sign to display in their yard for the month and $50 Carmi dollars, which can be spent at any business in Carmi.
