Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament Results Announced

The Carmi Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Golf Tournament was played on June 24, 2017 at the Carmi Country Club with 22 teams competing.

The team of Jeff Fetcho, Justin Fetcho, Jara Mitchell and Ryan Mitchell for Geo. N. Mitchell Drilling finished first, while the team of Todd Rice, Matt Rice, Craig Winter and Dave Higginson for Rice Motors  finished second and the team of Kevin Wolff, Drew Riley, Tim Riley and Marc Stendeback finished third.

The highlight of the day was a Hole in One on hole 3 by Leo Hall, playing for Hale Body Shop’s team.  That also secured Hall the Closest to the Pin prize.

Longest Putt prize went to Lance Barbre; Men’s Long Drive to Tyson Chastain; Senior Long Drive to Mel Steele and Ladies Long Drive to Sami Etienne.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Chamber’s scholarship program. The Chamber provides one graduating Carmi White County High School student a college scholarship.  Proceeds will also be used for competitive grants for Carmi White County teachers and investing in the White County CEO Program.

“We are not able to help students without the support of our sponsors and players.  All proceeds are invested in our youth.  We appreciate the support provided for this tournament,” noted Holly Healy of the Carmi Chamber of Commerce.
