The City of Carmi has recycling bins at the street department located at 306 Pleasant Street in Carmi. Open Saturday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to Noon – closed on Holiday weekends.
Cardboard and Paper Recycling bin will accept: cardboard, newspaper, office paper, magazines, catalogs, phone books, shredded paper, junk mail, manila folders and envelopes.
Glass, Metal and Plastic bin will accept: aluminum and steel cans, glass bottles and jars, all colors, plastic bottles and jugs, pots and pans, metal hangers, aluminum foil, metal items smaller than a toaster, plastic bags OK, metal lids OK. Leave labels on but take lids off, drain liquids and rinse food!
