7/3/2014 The Independence Day holiday will bring much activity to Carmi. The Carmi Lions Club 7th Annual Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show, along with tractors on display, will be held at the White County Fairgrounds. In addition, concessions and vendors will be available throughout the day. The Carmi Kiwanis Club will be holding a Corn Hole Tournament at 2:00 p.m.
The Carmi Chamber of Commerce is once again partnering with the City of Carmi and area businesses and individuals for the annual fireworks show which will begin at dusk. Once again, a synchronized soundtrack will be broadcast on WRUL. “Melrose Pyrotechnics has once again planned a beautiful and colorful display that is set to synchronized patriotic music. The fireworks will change with the tempo and will include strobes and willow tree effects,” noted Chamber Executive Director Holly Healy.
The Chamber is still accepting donations toward the $14000 display. Those wishing to contribute should mail a check to the Carmi Chamber of Commerce, 225 E Main Street, Carmi, IL 62821.
